Rugged Ethernet

American Data Supply stocks and carries a complete line of ruggedized Ethernet Switches from Telco Systems, Signamax , Adtran and Garrett.

Our Carrier Class Rugged Ethernet Switches for telco applications include a comprehensive line of compact switches, Edge Switches, Converter Switches and Media Converters with -48V DC power input built-in. Our hardened Ethernet products are designed for temperature uncontrolled, sheltered environments - typically located outdoors. These products have special thermal properties for use with outdoor plant facilities.Custom Ethernet products can be modified to meet the needs of special carrier applications. Variations in the packaging and port options often makes the perfect solution for special purpose situations. Ethernet products are used in variety of environments ranging from WiFi and wireless networks to tarrifed telco applications. Industrial Ethernet products are suitable for the demanding Ethernet applications in the Internet infrastructure and in telecom facilities such as Central Offices, POPs, and network management centers.

Carriers and Service Providers

Carriers and service providers today are challenged by the number of competitors entering the telecommunications space with aggressive bundled services for enterprise and residential customers. In many cases legacy services are giving way to new offerings with much lower prices. New technology can meet growing bandwidth requirements to support highly-differentiated service offerings needed to deliver service bundles and meet the demanding security and performance requirements of individual services and customers.

Telco Systems believes that a Carrier Ethernet-based infrastructure makes it possible to support the next generation of data services needed to offer flexible and scalable solutions to meet customer expectations. Multi-service offerings must be delivered through a robust access network in order for service providers to expand their customer base and increase revenue, while at the same time maintaining a cost-effective foundation. This solution must interoperate with legacy core networks and deliver next generation services in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Telco Systems focuses on the advanced IP traffic processing needed by large converged networks that deliver a mix of traditional and new services. Our comprehensive, carrier-class portfolio of IP routing, switching, VoIP and demarcation solutions brings intelligence with scale to access and aggregation of converged networks.

Solutions:

ACCESS RINGS

The need:
Improve resiliency of Ethernet access for carrier networks and provide better utilization of infrastructure

Telco systems solution:
Telco Systems’ Fast Ring provides enhanced resiliency for carrier Ethernet access networks

Benefits:

  • Resiliency: Sub 50ms recovery with Telco Systems’ Fast Ring
  • Standard: based on xSTP
  • Can co-exist with 3rd party switches in the same Ethernet ring
  • reduced CAPEX: Better utilization of infrastructure and
    • No need for standby ports such as in dual-homing solutions.
    • Minimal fiber layout

SOLUTION: TELCO T-5

Wireless Broadband Operators

Cellular operators are facing increased competition while migrating to next generation cellular technologies. A major challenge is the reduction of cellular backhaul costs by using cost-effective future-proof Ethernet based infrastructure.

Telco Systems brings cellular operators a new level of flexibility to their network infrastructure that is affordable, scalable, and quick to deploy virtually anywhere. Telco Systems' cost effective transport solutions enable the cellular operator to reduce operational expenses (OPEX) while supporting current and future cellular evolution.
