Summit WM Series - Secure, high-performance wireless solution for demanding enterprise applications
Summit® WM series switches deliver a high-performance wireless LAN solution that is easy to use and secure. In today's Enterprise environments, dedicated resources are rarely available to build and operate the wireless network. By focusing on ease of installation and management, Extreme Networks® Summit wireless mobility solution helps IT organizations simplify the task of mobilizing their users without sacrificing security or performance.

With the capability to support high-speed, cross-subnet roaming and sophisticated multicast support, the Summit WM series can meet nearly any mobile voice or multimedia networking challenge. The Summit WM series has capacities of up to 200 access points per switch in order to scale and support large WLAN installations while providing centralized management for remote branch office installations. Available in a 4X fast Ethernet or 2X Gigabit Ethernet version, both with redundant power supplies, the Summit WM series is an ideal solution for your customers' mobile data and voice challenges.

Summit X450 Series - Versatile Multi-Gigabit Switch with ExtremeWare XOS
The amazingly powerful and compact Summit X450 series is the first fixed-format switch based on the revolutionary ExtremeWare XOS core-class operating system. The Summit X450 series uses the same high-performance, non-blocking hardware technology used on Extreme's BlackDiamond 8800, continuing Extreme Networks' tradition of simplifying network deployments through the use of common hardware and software throughout the network. An extremely versatile switch, the Summit X450 is equally at home as a small network core switch, aggregation switch, high performance gigabit access switch, or as a service delivery platform for Metro Ethernet networks.

Included with this compact 1RU package are 24 ports of fiber or 24 ports of copper gigabit connectivity plus option 10 gigabit uplinks. Its low-latency non-blocking design supports high throughput applications and converged voice-video-data network services. The Summit X450 series includes a versatile set of features including advanced LPM layer 3 switching normally not found in a fixed format switch, IPv6 routing, multiple supplicant Network Login, sFlow delivering traffic sampling and analysis, plus essential Metro Ethernet networking features such as vMAN tag stacking for provider bridging and granular QoS with multiple limiters per port. The versatile Summit X450 is an ideal cornerstone of any high-performance network.


Summit 400 Series - High-Performance Gigabit Access Switch with 10-Gigabit Uplink Option
The Summit 400 family of stackable switches from Extreme Networks consisting of the Summit 400-48t, Summit 400-24t, and the Summit 400-24p, is designed to meet the performance and availability requirements of today's high-performance networks that require Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Delivering enhanced resiliency and reduced latency to support converged applications like IP telephony, video and wireless LAN, and with optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) for LAN powered devices, the Summit 400 family is ready to support the evolving LAN.

The Summit 400 family was designed from the ground up to support converged LAN applications with exceptional quality of service (QoS), low latency, exceptional resiliency, line-rate performance and PoE for the full range of applications on a converged network. Summit switches offer true packet intelligence, Layer 2 to Layer 4, to provide complete security, flexible traffic management, and resiliency required at the evolving network edge, and essential traffic classification and resiliency features required to support converged applications.

Summit 300 Series - Power over Ethernet and Wireless Full-Feature Layer 2/3 Access Switches
Extreme's edge solutions enable our unique Unified Access Architecture. Unified Access implements the vision of a universal high-performance port on the wall to which a user can connect a traditional PC, an IP telephone, or a lightweight wireless access point. The Summit 300-24 and the Summit 300-24 are Layer 3 PoE/wireless edge switches providing all the benefits of Unified Access, including comprehensive wired/wireless security, voice-grade availability, and end-to-end manageability.

The most advanced member of the BlackDiamond series is the BlackDiamond 10808 (BD10K). Designed from the ground up to support a high-density 10 gigabit infrastructure, the BlackDiamond 10K is based on Extreme Networks® fourth generation of Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology. These ASICs have a number of new enhancements, including longest prefic match (LPM) routing for IPv4 and IPv6, programmable packet parsing and editing, robust multicast performance, and the revolutionary CLEAR-Flow security infrastructure. These features enhance routing performance, allow support of new network protocols without disruptive hardware upgrades, enable seamless voice and video distribution, and enable real-time response to day-zero network Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. Features such as Quality of Service (QoS), Access Control Lists (ACLs), and statistics gathering can be enabled without affecting packet throughput, even at 10 gigabit data rates.

The BlackDiamond 10K chassis was designed to meet stringent carrier-class standards, with front-to-back cooling, redundant PSUs, fans, and controllers, and a passive backplane. Integrated error checking and correction protects the packet data path, and independent control and data planes ensure that network data and management traffic never interfere.

Available in 10-slot and 6-slot models, the BlackDiamond 8800 series provides voice-class availability and power at every port, making it the ideal modular unified access solution for a combined edge and aggregation solution in a converged network. Each port supports a full range of Layer 2-4 features, and each I/O module provides non-blocking local switching and backplane connectivity for up to 48 gigabits of port bandwidth. This nprecedented performance also makes the BlackDiamond 8800 series ideal for medium enterprise cores and as an interconnect switch for high-performance computing applications. The highly redundant chassis design and system architecture provide voice-class availability at any network location.

Our revolutionary ExtremeWare® XOS™ operating system, the industry's first truly modular network operating system, increases availability over and beyond the chassis level high availability design. Self-healing process restart ensures that the switch can recover from failures without rebooting the entire operating system. Software modules can be loaded or upgraded dynamically, and the ExtremeWare XOS architecture also supports hitless software failover and upgrades.

All BlackDiamond switches are designed and built to minimize latency and jitter, which degrade the quality of voice and video applications. They're also highly resilient, a key aspect of voice-class availability. One of the many mechanisms used to ensure resiliency, is Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching (EAPS) link resiliency standard, available on all switches from Extreme etworks. Airtight authentication blocks users at the switch, until they've been approved.
